JOINT MEETING WITH SHRM RI

Talent Development Reporting Principles (TDRp):  New Standards for the Measurement, Management, and Reporting of Human Capital

Join Dave Vance, Executive Director of the Center for Talent Reporting and former President of Caterpillar University, to learn about an exciting industry-led initiative to bring standard principles, measures, reports and management practices to the fields of L&D and HR. Accountants have had standards to guide them for years. Why not L&D and HR?

In this interactive session we will explore these standards called Talent Development Reporting Principles (TDRp) and how they can improve our planning, management and reporting. In particular, we will focus on the impact our profession has on our organizations and how we can best demonstrate alignment to goals and our impact on those goals through the use of standard business practices and TDRp reporting. We will also explore the use of standard management practices and TDRp reports throughout the year to ensure planned outcomes are delivered effectively and efficiently. Dave will share his experience using these principles at Caterpillar and provide an update on the industry adoption of these practices and standards.

In this session you will be introduced to TDRp and the standard measures and reports. You will learn how to:

  • Achieve and demonstrate strategic alignment to your organization’s goals
  • Reach upfront agreement with sponsors on expected impact and how to show it
  • Use standard reports to manage your program or function through the year

The program is for anyone who manages a program or function, produces reports, performs measurement and evaluation, or who is simply curious about a more business-like approach to talent development or about standards for L&D or HR and their potential value.
