Get ready for an innovative collaboration! ATD Rhode Island and Dream See Do (DSD) are joining forces to bring you an immersive hackathon experience like no other. Join us for this unique event combining networking and innovation. Dinner and refreshments will be provided.
What is a hackathon you ask?
A hackathon is an exciting and collaborative event where participants come together to create innovative solutions or projects within a limited timeframe, usually ranging from a few hours to a few days. This hackathon is not just for techies! This is your chance to brainstorm, innovate, and create impactful solutions for the world of L&D. These events are not only an opportunity to showcase a range of skills but also to learn, network and connect with peers, and push the boundaries of what technology and program design can achieve in a short span of time.
Our Theme: The CPR Flywheel™ + Thoughtful AI:
The CPR Flywheel™ is DSD’s human-centered, research-based, and digitally native learning model which champions Connection, Practice and Reflection for deeper learning and behavior change that sticks. This model has served as the foundation for their platform features & design principles, and has netted tremendous engagement and outcomes in the L&D space.
This Hackathon will have the benefit of leveraging this model, while simultaneously providing the participants an opportunity to harness learnings from the experience. We will also incorporate generative AI with a human touch. Likely the most talked about technology and trend on the planet, the DSD team will help dispel some of the myths, and ground us in ways this powerful tool can be leveraged in meaningful and thoughtful ways, particularly focusing on how AI can inform Connection, Practice and Reflection in blended experiences.
-
The Challenge: Prototype new ideas (apps; assessments; approaches; etc) for blended learning, training and coaching experiences that you would desire, leveraging elements of the CPR Flywheel™ and generative AI.
-
Participants: L&D Professionals, Learning designers, Content Developers, Graphic Designers, UI/UX experts and more.
-
Goal: Create a clear and engaging presentation for the prototype that your group creates during this hackathon, to present to your peers.
Presenter: Jeremy Berman
Throughout his life, Jeremy has served as a mentor and mentee. Starting in middle school, he was the shoulder to lean on, ultimately majoring in psychology at Washington University. His passion for self-improvement and altruistic nature led him to want to help people learn and grow - through a practice he calls 'whole person development'. His love for technology led him to build and fix devices since he was a young lad, which evolved to digital products as an adult. Jeremy launched Dream See Do with his co-founder Josh, to actualize their dreams of helping people convert their ideas, expertise and IP into dynamic learning and habit building experiences.
As a life-long learner, Jeremy embodies the DSD mantra of ‘Always Learning’. He loves to create elegant digital products that unlock human potential, as he connects with the range of amazing people that he meets as CEO. Jeremy lives in Connecticut with his lovely wife and two daughters. He's an avid yogi and meditator. Soccer, writing and performing music, travel, a zest for a variety of tasty foods, and a generous portion of humor, rounds out his diverse interests.
More About our co-host Dream See Do
DSD's journey began at a hackathon in October 2013, when founders Jeremy and Josh met and began their shared exploration of Learning & Development. Their idea began as a seed to help young people “Dream, See, and Do” experiential learning activities aimed to explore future job and career possibilities. This initial seed has grown and evolved into a platform that empowers people to instantaneously convert ideas, concepts and expertise into powerful blended learning experiences of all different varieties. Their team has worked in harmony with like-minded allies in our space to create a transformational platform and learning experience with measurable outcomes. DSD’s motto “Always Learning” defines their values-centered journey, and they are stoked to learn together as they co-host this event for our community! Learn more about Dream See Do on their website.
