    Becoming a trusty business partner to managers is essential to your TD team's success. Without a strong alliance with managers, it is difficult to gain critical support for any training and development initiatives.

    Join us as we welcome long-time Bay Colonies member and co-author of the July TD Magazine cover story, Don’t Let Managers DownJamie Millard, to discuss how to apply proven skills and strategies to form valued, reliable, and impactful workforce development partnerships with managers. In addition, Jamie will provide some tips for presenting at ATD conferences and publishing posts, blogs, articles and books through ATD.

    Jamie Millard served on our chapter's board of directors for over 15 years and for 3 years as a member of ATD’s National Advisors for Chapters, supporting both the Northeast and New England Areas. Jamie co-founded the ATD New England Area Conference and was the conference co-chair for 7 years, and was awarded the Therese Strik Volunteer Award for his service to the ATD Bay Colonies Chapter.

    Jamie is the co-author of Becoming a Can-Do Leader: A Guide for the Busy Manager (ATD Press), and is the executive partner and co-founder of Lexington Leadership Partners, an executive coaching and customized leadership development and training firm focused on developing can-do leaders who demonstrate commitment, competence, and courage. He formerly led the national organization change management practice at CSC Consulting. Prior to that, Jamie was a partner at Harbridge House, where he led the continuous improvement and project management customized training and consulting practices. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the US Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the University of Rhode Island. He is a proud veteran and member of the Global Educator Network with Duke Corporate Education.

    Jamie and his wife Ann live in East Greenwich and are active in the sailing community. Jamie is also a part-time musician, playing acoustic guitar and singing in local clubs.

    In this interactive session, career and transition coach, Anne Lipsitz, will focus on crafting a compelling story using tools that build your brand and articulate your value. Best practices for writing a resume, cover letter, and updating your LinkedIn profile will be discussed.

    This workshop is for anyone wanting to learn more about personal branding. The intended audience is business professionals who are looking to increase visibility of their personal brand. This is an interactive workshop using Powerpoint and small group activities.

    Key components of this event:

    Resume: Create/re-create an effective resume or improve the one you already have. Transform your resume into a powerful tool that will make the most of your work experience, skills, and successes.

    Cover Letter: Learn how to tell your story and demonstrate your accomplishments for a new opportunity.

    LinkedIn: Create, optimize, and promote your LinkedIn profile learning how to better build your visibility as well as explore which LinkedIn features can help you grow your network and expand your professional online presence.

    Anne Lipsitz is an Executive and Career Coach located in Providence, Rhode Island. Anne has an extensive background in marketing, sales, communication, training, and career management. She holds degrees in Journalism, PR, and Communication Studies and has many years of experience creating compelling content, engaging others, facilitating workshops, and supporting professional development as a mentor and coach.

    Topics she has expertise in include executive coaching, professional development, personal branding, strategic marketing, and communications, as well as cultivating a toolbox of quantifiable career tools to pivot and change industries.

    Kevin Clancy, VP, Enterprise Learning & Talent Management, explains Gilbane Building Company’s journey to being recognized with an ATD BEST Award for demonstrating enterprise-wide success as a result of employee talent development.

    Kevin Clancy is the director of Gilbane University, leading Gilbane’s industry-leading training and professional development initiatives. Kevin joined Gilbane in 2017, bringing more than a decade of corporate training experience from both the financial and healthcare sectors.

Board Meetings

All chapter members are welcome to attend board meetings. Board meetings are held on the first Friday of each month (September through May), 7:30am - 9:00am Eastern. Please email president@atdbaycolonies.org at least 3 business days prior to the meeting if you plan to attend, and a Zoom link will be sent to you. In addition, board meeting minutes are provided online to all members.
